Question

Claviola and coins
I recently recieved a very odd named piano. I have never heard of it before. "Claviola" It has a mirror on top and when I removed it I found four places for coins. The coins say " London 1902" and Oregon "1905" The other coin is in the 1800's but not very readable and the other place, it looks liek someone removed the coin. It is an upright acoustic piano. Iv'e taken four pictures of it if I can send them to you. It only has two pedals. Any ideas?

Thank you!

Answer
Hi,

Thank you for using allexperts.

I am afraid I do not have any information available about the manufacturer Claviola, except that they started in 1896 and were purchased by Kindler  & Collins in 1921. I can not find anything relating to the dates and places on those coins. There was a World's Fair in Portland, Oregon at that time, but, none of the Fairs in 1902 were in London. So, thats all I got.

Sincerely,
