Antique Musical Instruments/Fillmore Euphonium

Question

Fillmore
I have found what I think is a Fillmore Euphonium, but I am unable to find a serial number, or a photo of any that looks exactly like it, the closest Ive found is ID number 2909.
It is silver, with a 8 1/2 diameter bell, and the length of the horn is about 19 1/2 inches long.  If you could help me with some information, I would greatly appreciate it.

Answer
Sometimes pictures can be mis-leading, but that appears to me to be a tenor horn or an alto horn.

A tenor horn is in the same key as an euphonium, but has a much more narrow bore.

An alto horn plays in a higher key than the euphonium.  It is pitched in Eb.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
