Question
I just bought a piano that has W.E. Wheellock and serial #11460 on the inside. It is made of Tiger Wood I believe and would like information on the maker and year made please.

Thank you for using allexperts. Your W. E. Wheelock piano, serial #11460 was built in 1890. Wheelock, Est. 1873 as Billings & Wheelock. In 1877 the Billings & Wheelock company was dissolved and Wheelock started to build Wheelock pianos The name William E. Wheelock & Co. was established in 1880 and a large factory on 149th St. in New York was acquired. In 1886 Wheelock started the Stuyvesent Piano Co. The company belonging to the late Albert Weber was purchased in 1892 and Wheelock, Charles B. Lawson and John W. Mason formed the Weber Piano Co. Became part of the Aeolian Weber Piao & Pianola Co. in 1903.
