Expert: Todd Lindeblad - 2/20/2010

I've inherited, from what I can tell, a rare Mathushek.  Of antique brazilian rosewood, it has a unique key configuration, with the lowest key on the board starting at C.  It has the original 88 ivory keys, is in pretty fine condition, but does need restoration.  I've checked with other experts, and they rarely come across the "Midium" brand (similar to the Colibris and Orchestrals).  It is estimated to be built 1867-ish, and we believe it was either tuned or restrung in the early 1920s (not sure, the signature has faded).  No other Mathushek, to date anyone can find, has this unique key configuration.  If, fully restored (and I have a few expert tuners' and finishers' quotes), what you estimate the value to be?  I would like to find a collector, and get it in re-sale shape.  Thanks for any information.  I do have photos I can send.  Kind regards.
