Question
I have a 1902 Boston valve trombone  can find no information on the company or any thing about the trombone itself could you give me any info on this and perhaps the value also

Answer
Boston Musical Instrument Manufactory was formed in 1869 from the joining of craftsmen from the Civil War makers:  Graves & Co. and E. G. Wright. By 1873, the principals were: Henry Esbach, Louis Hartman and W.G. Reed. The firm produced high quality brass instruments

In 1913, the company reorganized under the name of Boston Musical Instrument Company, and in 1919 it was bought by the Cundy-Bettoney Co. Continued in business until 1922 or 1928.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
