Antique Musical Instruments/Inherited piano

Question

Piano
Hello!

We just picked up a piano that has been on the family for a long time.  Unfortunately, there are no marks on it at all.

It is square and measures 3ft. 4 in. long and 2 ft deep.  It has only 64 keys and has two foot pedals.

I have never seen anything like it and was wondering what it may be or if you have seen anything like it?  It is rather simple in design and is not a grand.  The top lifts to expose keys and then lifts again to expose the hammers and so on.  It is black in color (not sure if it is originally black) but has been that way for over 30 yrs.

Any ideas on such a small piano?

Thank you in advance!

Answer
Hi,

Thank you for using allexperts.

No, I have not seen anything like this. Is there anything on the inside of the piano such as the harp or soundboard? The size looks to be of a console or studio sized piano. If you can find any information on it's manufacture I may be able to t help. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,
