I had it recently restored. What year would it have been made and what other information can you tell me about it. It has a flowery head engraving and you can change the key A to Bb.Silver color.I have the case.
Answer Made in 1921, it sounds like you have one of the 80's series Victor cornets (80A-87A). Conn advertised it as: "Victor cornets are setting the standard for the cornet world. Easy speaking, marvelously flexible, perfect in intonation and possessing unsurpassed beauty of tone. It is not strange they are being played by more world artists than any other cornet in the world. "
Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments.
I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments.
1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site.
2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.
Experience
I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
