I have a carl fisher cornet american model new york serial number  49 can you tell me about it

Fischer was a dealer, not a maker.  He purchased his stock from other makers.  There doesn't seem to be any consistent number system with his products, which would possibly be the result from purchasing product from different makers at different points in time.
