Antique Musical Instruments/Antique Coronet?

Question
I recently acquired a coronet/trumpet and cannot tell how old it is by researching it. The case is quite old the instrument has an inscription of Biltmore made by Wm Frank co Barrington, Ill serial number is 1r1193. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Wm Frank established his business in 1910.  He died in 1932, but the company continued on.  All of his serial numbers are just numbers, so I think that r must really be a number.  The serials for the Frank instruments is very general, but you can view it at:  http://www.musictrader.com/frank.html

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
