Question
I was wondering if you know where I could get replacement pistons for this. I know it was made about 1965, and one of the pistons seems a bit off and made for a 50's model conn.

Thanks in advance

Answer
You would need to check with a repair technician.  There are some horns that have parts in inventory with the suppliers.  But that is getting pretty old and it may be that even if the model is the same, there may be differences between what is stocked and what it needs.  The part, if it is available, is going to only be available to a technician.

About the only way you as an individual can get the piston would be to find another junk horn and swap one out from it.  And, that may be the only way a technician could do it too.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
