Antique Musical Instruments/Crusade trumpet

Question
I just bought a trumpet on E-Bay, In the case there is sheet music from 1913. The trumpet Has "Crusade" on the bell. I bought it to play, I haven't played since high school and would like to start again. I am  not sure what I bought and would like to know more about it.
Thanks.

Answer
I'm not sure either.  I've not heard of that brand name.  If it is an old horn, then it is probably a stencil sold by a music store but made elsewhere possibly imported from the Czech Republic area.  If it is a new horn, then is it also probably imported, but could have been made in China, India, etc.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
