Antique Musical Instruments/Olds Trombone Information

Question
Good afternoon,
I have an Olds trombone with a bear playing a trombone as the slide weight. It has a fluted slide. I seem to remember that it was a radio city model. I played in band many years ago and am trying to find out a little more about it and what to put on it for insurance value. Best I can remember it has an outstanding sound.

Thank you in advance for any direction you might be able to give me.

Answer
That is a rather famous model. I've never played one so I don't know whether its reputation comes from the way it plays or the novelty of the counterweight.  (It should be a good playing instrument.)

Does it look like this horn?

It should have a dual bore of .510/.525 and a 7.5 in bell

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
