Antique Musical Instruments/Trumpet Value

Question
I have an old trumpet from the early 1900's.  It is a True Tone C 50229 15 from the Barscher Elkhart Ind.  It is silver in color and in its original case.  It is not in excellent condition and is missing one or two pieces in the original case.  HELP????  Thank you in advance.

Answer
Can't tell you a specific value, but I can say that the old Buescher trumpets are good instruments, and are often worth putting back in service.  If you want to send me pictures at Kenton@punxypa.com, I may be better able to tell you what it will need to be refurbished, and whether it is worth doing so.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
