Question
Ever heard of a clarinet with the marking Alexandre Paris. Have any interest or value? Thanks for the help

Answer
I'm sorry, I thought I already answered this question - I must have forgotten to hit the send button.

Anyway, there was a maker by that name in the mid 1800's but I believe he only made brass instruments.

Sometimes, makers - even in other locations would mark their horns as being Franch as the French were respected as instrument makers.  If this is the case, the horn could have been Czech made or somewhere else.

An actual clarinet of the mid 1800's would be mostly a wooden tube with holes, and few actual keys.

So, no real information from me I'm afraid, just some random thoughts.

Sorry I can't be of more help

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
