Antique Musical Instruments/bundy clarinet

Question
Hi, I saw a listing on ebay for a George M. Bundy Professional Bb clarinet.  After doing research on the internet I can't find out for sure.  Is there any such thing?  It is wood, nicely restored and looks great.  I thought Bundy was the student line.     Thanks for your time.  Susan

Answer
George Bundy worked for Selmer and became their manager in 1927.  I find no record of Bundy ever making instruments under his own name other than as used by Selmer as a trade name for student level instruments.

However, I must also note that I know more about brass instruments than woodwinds.

So, I can't give you a definitive answer, but I don't believe that it would be a professional level instrument.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
