Question
Do you have any info. about this type of horn? Does it have  any monetary value?
My son wants to learn how to play this instrument.  What do you recommend?
Thank you

Answer
Clearbore is a model made by Joesph Higham, Manchester.  I'm not certain what numbers you referenced are connected to.  All Higham instruments I've seen had a lot of information them.  Is there anything else on the instrument?  It is difficult to tell  much more about this instrument without further information.

As far as playing it, it would depend on his band director.  It would probably be able to use either the music written for the French horn, or for the alto sax.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
