Question
I work in a pawn shop/ music center and have aquired a Getzen super deluxe tone balanced trumpet and trombone.  they are identical copper rim around the bell with engraving of the super deluxe balanced tone. The trumpet has a serial # of 41881 and the trombone is #87030.  Could you please give me some information on these instuments.

Answer
Getzen started making trombones in 1946.  And, he started making trumpets in 1947.  Then in 1963, they had a factory fire, that destroy records and production areas.  After the rebuilding, they began to use serial numbers that started with letters.  

The Super Deluxe Tone Balanced were professional level instruments.
