Answer
Well, this might be a interesting bit of sleuthing!

with a  serial of 112565
and a brand name of Cleveland
and documentation of it being at least 58 years old (so about 1948)
and, a patent date of 1925

Cleveland was purchased by White in 1925.  So, it seems like it couldn't be the product of the original Cleveland company.

White then used Cleveland as a tradename.  But, the serial number list I have for Cleveland indicates that that serial number was used in the early 1960's.  So, that doesn't fit.  Also it seems unlikely that they would still be listing a 1925 patent in 1960!

So, either I mis-understood your information, or something doesn't match up.  Double check the engraving on the horn for more information and check that serial number again.

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
