Question
The Lyon Healy trumpet does say own make on it. Can I clean the horn with something or should I leave it as is. could you guess what it is worth.
My experience with Own Make insruments are that they are indeed well made. Unfortunately, the Lyon and Healy company had a mixed reputation, their records were destroyed about a century ago, and so they don't retain as much value as maybe they should.
As to cleaning, try a first pass on it with Tarnx, then try Blue Magic, and finish up with a good silver polish.
