Antique Musical Instruments/vintage saxaphone appraisal

Question
I have several vintage saxaphones ranging from alto, C-Melody, tenor, soprano and baritone. I live in Kansas and would like to have them appraised as the majority of them were made in the early 1900's.  Where can I go to have them appraised?  Thanks, Vesna

Answer
There is a list of Appraisers on this WEB site.

Of course, it sort of depends on what your intentions are.  If you wish to sell them, the watchers on eBay tend to set the price pretty fairly for antique instruments.

I'm assuming that they are different brands and models from each other.  If they were a matched set, you would want to sell them together.

Hope this helps.

Expertise

Please note: My area is BRASS instruments, not other wind, string or percussion instruments. I will provide information on antique, obscure and out of production BRASS instruments. 1) Please don't ask for evaluations, I'll not provide them on this site. 2) I am often asked very similar questions, so I'd invite you to first check on Horn-u-Copia.net. Much of the information I have garnered about this topic, I have posted on this WEB site.

Experience

I perform in several historical bands, have informally researched the area, repair brass instruments, and operate a Forum dedicated to the topic at http://horn-u-copia.net
