Antique Pianos/Packard piano

My Packard piano has a stenciled serial number of 95 836. There is a space between 95 and 836. Does the 95 indicate the year 1895? If not, why is there a space? There is also a carved number 9806 on the top of the front panel. I'm wondering the age of the piano. Thank you.
