Antique Pianos/Aeolian Wheelock baby grand piano

I also have a Wheelock baby grand that I was told was made around 1935. It is in excellent original condition and tuned. This question prompted me to look at the serial number. It is 305994, which is clearly 6 digits. I went to the site with serial numbers on all pianos and the Wheelock brand per se was not there. Nonetheless, I found this number for pianos made by Kingsbury from '36 to '37. Kingsbury was incorporated into Aeolian in 1949 and they continue with the 6 digit serial numbers. Is there a chance that a '36 Kingsbury was relabeled Wheelock at least 10 years after it was manufactured. I cannot think of any other explanation.
