Question
piano
piano
Hi.  Thank you in advance for your service.  We've been offered this piano for free from relatives.  It's currently out-of-state, four hours away, but we're heading there in two weeks and are happy to rent a van to bring it to our home if it's worth the trouble.  The middle foot pedal is limp and the far right key sounds off, but otherwise it's in reportedly good shape.  A beauty!  How much is it worth do you think?  And how much approximately will it cost to get back in workable shape?  Or do we let this one go?

Answer
Hi,

Thank you for contacting us. Story and Clark is a very good piano brand and one worth holding onto especially one made in this time period. I suggest you contact a local RPT (registered piano technician) who can help you out with an approximate value of the piano and other additional information. You can acquire a RPT list at www.pianomart.com. Choose the "recourses" option and then the "find a technician" option, type in your zip code and you can get a list of experts in your area. It is a very helpful recourse for piano owners. If the piano needs more work than a local technician can do I would recommend checking out www.lindebladpiano.com to have a full restoration of piano of the caliber. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

Sincerely,
Robert Parker
