Question
I have acquired a mosler safe, about 1900c.
It is missing the tumbler stack, do you know where to
get parts for these old safes?
Thanks

Answer
Matt,

Over the years, (134 years) Mosler has made a great many safes, using a wide variety of locks.  Asking for a "WHEEL PACK" is like asking for a starter for a Ford, different models, different wheel pack.  I need to know what lock you are dealing with so that we can start looking for the missing parts.

To Start with, Mosler went bankrupt in 2001.  Parts for the old locks haven't been available, even from the factory for the last 50-60 years.  The only parts that are out there are either ones that are already on safes, or ones that have been stripped for later use or collections.

I have a few Mosler parts available, but I need more info like pictures of your lock.  Once we have a modle or type of lock you can start canvasing all of the lock & safe companies you can find to see what is available.

Your othe option would be to upgrade the safe with a more current lock.  You can possibly reuse the existing dial to keep the safe looking old.  Again, I will need more info about your safe inorder to make any suggestions.

Take some photos of the lock and dial and send them to me.  It will help if you include a tape measure in the pictures for size references.  Make sure that you make a reference in your email as to what you are looking for.  I get a lot of emails from people that think we can read their minds.
