Question
I have a small safe that I plan on painting glossy black. I would like to put gold lettering on it. Where would I find a gold leaf lettering the type that was used in the old days?

Real gold leaf paint is going to be expensive.  I would check your local paint supply, or an auto parts store that has touch up type paint.  Also, an art supply store may have something very comparable.

If you are asking about letters or decal style letters, again check with an art supply store to see what is available.
The letters on the older style safes were all hand painted.  They didn't use any decals.
You could also check with a sign maker.  There are companies that specialize in making decal style lettering for vehicles.  It would be designed on a computor and then printed out.  you would then peel and stick the decal to your safe.  A couple of coats of "clear-coat" on top and you are done.
