Question

HHM
Andy,

I have come into possession of a Herring-Hall-Marvin Safe Co. safe.  I am trying to find out a few things about it.  I attached 2 pictures.  The first picture is a close up of as much information as I correctly have.  The plaque says "Underwriters Laboratories Inspected Safe Class A Fire NO. 2056 Class T Burglar."  It is roughly 48'' wide by 70'' tall by 30'' deep and is located in New York City.  Unfortunately, these are the only pictures and information I currently have.  I understand you probably couldn't tell me specifics but my questions are as follows:

Approx. manufacture date?

Approx. weight?

I do not have the combination and I am in the New York Area can you recommend someone to open?

Any other misc. information regarding it?

Thank You

Answer
John,

Without more information all I can do is try to give you the basics:

This safe was probably built in the late 1940's to late 1950's, weight is in the 2500-3000 lb range (depends on the interior, and may weigh more).

Give Empire Safe, 800-543-5412 or Acme Safe, 212-226-2500 a call.  Check your yellow pages under safes & vaults.
