How hard is it to open this safe? model # s-59275 brand: Major
and how can you change the dial from a manual to a digital lock mechanism?
Can any locksmith open it?

Any trained safe technician can open the safe for you (I do not recommend using a locksmith as most do not have the training and can ruin your safe), cost:  $350-$500 to open, repair and recover the combo.  Another alternative would be to check the factory for the original combination.  I have a combination request form that has to be filled out for the factory to do a combo search.  Send your request for the form to me at:  andy@securitysafeusa.com

You didn't mention whether your safe is a square door or round door.  If the door is a square door, it can be changed to a digital lock, if it is a round door it is not compatible.
