Question
I opened my safe on 12/13/09 to add some papers.  The next day, I was unable to open it.  I replaced the batteries to no avail.  With my latch key inserted, the combination I use on the keypad is *9257# & i hear a beep each time I press a key except for the last one which is the # key.  When it is working properly, an LED lights after I press the last key (#) & I am able to turn the latch key clockwise & open the door.  The serial number of my safe is 8806118: the lock number is 2108 as is the latch key.  Can yu please help me.  Thank you.  Richard Morgan

Answer
Richard,

I would change the batteries again as they are generally the problem - don't use cheap batteries, and check them with a multi-meter to ensure that they have a full charge.

Wiggle the door and handle to ensure that there is no pressure on the lock solenoid, and try it again.

If you are still having problems, you may need to have a safe company open the safe for you.  Cost - maybe between $350-$500
