Question

old safe
I have a acquired an old safe with a combination lock.  The information on the safe is National safe and lock company USA
On the lock itself it says Sargent & Green (then a letter is unreadable) then 3 letters - BAP Rochester NY May 22, 1902,

I do not have the combination to this safe and was wondering if there was any way to get it.  I am attaching pictures of the safe

Answer
Carol,

The picture you have sent me does not look like a National Safe.  I'll need more pictures to ID it.  Full exterior, and detail pics of the dial, handle, hinges, castors, labels or names, and any art work on the safe.  High resolution and in focus, please.

Many of the older companies not only made and sold their safes, but they also sold safes from other companies, re-labeled for "advertising" purposes.

Your lock has the potential for a minimum of 1,000,000 possible combinations.  There are no records from the National Safe & Lock company so you will need a safe technician to open your safe.  Cost will be around $350 to $500.  Don't use a locksmith company unless you have to.  Generally they don't have the proper training and they will turn a 2-3 hour job in to a 3-5 day job, and your safe will look like swiss cheese when finished.

Send me the pictures:   andy@securitysafeusa.com
