Question
I have a meilink safe but am unsure of the combination.fortunately the last time I used it I did not spin the dial so that it opens with the turn of the handle. How can I check on the combination? Jim

Jim,

You have three options:

1.  You can contact Meilink to see if they have a record of the original combination:
1-800-528-9900.  If the combo has never been changed they may have a record.  They have a "search fee" that you will have to pay, and you will need to provide them with ownership documentation.

2.  If the above fails, my next recommendation would be to have a safe technician inspect the safe and recover the combo for you.  If the door is small enough, you can open it fully, and pull it off the hinges to take the door to the safe company.  This will save you a service charge.

3.  Lastly, which I don't recommend - you can disassemble the lock and attempt to recover the combination yourself.  Again this is not recommended as you door has several relocking devices attached which you may activate during the disassembly.  If these are not reassembled correctly, it can result in a locked out safe, which will be expensive to open and repair.
