Antique Safes/floor safe

I have an old Marvin Hall etc, about60 or so years old. It was water damaged from water spray in the Basement of my dads home.It weighs 600 or more pounds. Looking to get it repainted and restored. I believe I can remember the combination and get it opened. Any ideas where I might could get this done?I live in NC. I can get a little more info when I go to the family home place. I'm a bit disabled and apologize for not having more info. Can you please help me? I wanted to keep it because of my Dad. Thanks, Jeff

Chances are the safe is a Herring-Hall-Marvin, not a Marvin Hall.    This company was in business from 1892 until it was acquired by Diebold in 1959 during a bankruptcy and subsequently closed down around 1962.

Before worrying about having the safe repainted or restored, I would get it opened up and operational.   Afterwards you can concentrate on the restoration.

The nearest company that I would recommend in North Caroline would be Talton's Safes in Raleigh.

Talton's  Safe  Company
919-779-3545          Ray Talton

Raleigh, NC 27603

Contact Ray to see what he can do for you.   If he can't help you, he may be able to give you the name of someone closer.

Hope this helps.
