Antique Safes/hinge pins

Can you please tell me where I can get hinge pins or comparable for 2 old safes.

One is a double door, can't find the manufacturer.

the second is a single door say SAFE*CABINET LABORATORY 4967

thank you

Hi Geri,

Are you looking for "hinge caps"  (Finials or Acorns), or the actual pins that the doors swing on???

In either case there are no sources for hinge pins or acorns for older safes, you have to make them.

If you don't have a machine shop to make them, then you possibly aren't going to find them.

Worse case, if you give me the exact dimensions that you need, I can make them for you.

I will need decimal measurements to at least three digits, preferably four.   So for instance if you need a 1/4" pin, it would measure at   0.2500".    A 1/3" pin would measure at  0.3333.   A 5/8" pin would measure at    0.6250"    etc.

Similarly length would be in decimals, so a 1-3/16" pin would measure    1.1875" long.

If you don't have a machine shop, or can't make them yourself, then send a request along with measurements and quantities to me at:

Costs will be based on material and time to make them.    Generally I use an oil hardened, drill rod type material to make them.
