Anxiety Disorders - Schizoid

Expert: Jurriaan Plesman, Nutritional Psychologist - 11/4/2009

Question
Dear Mr. Plesman,

What are the ultimate origins of a Schizoid Personality Type and why would I have developed the disease with a much greater ferocity at the age of 15?

    I am 52 and male.

Sincerely,
Mark Patriquin

Answer
HI Mark Patriquin,

This is not easy to answer, as there are a multiplicity of factors that can contribute to mood disorders of any kind.

You have to understand that that most of our feel good neurotransmitters and hormones are derived from precursors in our food. Nutritional biochemistry is a complex study. If we have a nutritional disorder that can be caused by many factors, it may affects the way we feel about life.

If you want to have a overview of some of these factors I suggest you study:

Self-help Personal Growth Psychotherapy at:
http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au/articles/self-help_personal_growth.html

and ask for a referral to a Nutritional Doctor, a Clinical Nutritionist or a Nutritional Psychologist if you want to.

If you want to use our web site a an educational tool, please search for terms in "Search our web site", which will lead you to articles where the term is discussed further.
