Question I've been searching the net for info on Richard D. James, and I can't find his E-mail or his address. I'm an aspiring musician and I'd like to know what equipment he uses, how he got his start, and if he uses any special methods. Do you know any of his information? Is it confidential? Would he mind?
Answer Quite simply...
1. You won't find his email address anywhere.
2. He undoubtedly uses or has used a large array of machines and techniques over the years, some of these include sampling, synthesisers and writing computer programs to generate sound. It would be fruitless/impossible to start trying to compile lists of these.
3. His start? Well I suppose you could put that down to talent and "zest" for experimentation. He really drove his own career, and I suppose Warp Records helped a great deal.
Sorry if that answer seemed a bit abrupt but in my eyes there really isn't much more to it.
