QuestionI have never made a dip for a bread "bowl", not sure it considered a bread dip or vege dip or what? Not sure what bread to use either...looking for something special for my first progressive dinner with sunday school class..I'm to bring Hors d'oeuvre

My favourite is a round pumpernickle loaf with a spinach dip (before you say yuck! spinach, the spinach taste is not really strong and it really is very, very good).
Cut a hole in the bread, but not quite through to the bottom (like a bowl). Take the chunk of bread that you cut out, and cut into 1" pieces. Arrange these pieces around the loaf on the tray. Put a couple of sprigs of parsley on it for decoration.
Dip:
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1/2 pound of frozen spinach, thawed and finely chopped
1 envelope of Knorr Swiss Vegetable Soup mix (or any dry veggie soup)
Squirt of lemon.
Mix together thoroughly. At the last minute, before serving the bread, put the dip into the bread bowl.
This is a family favourite at my house.
