Arab Culture/The definition of culture

Question
What are the aspects that includes  culture?

Answer
Greetings Abd, and thanks for your question.  My apologies for the delay, as I think there was some technical glitch preventing me from receiving several questions in the past week or so.  Let me see though what I can do to help you:

"Culture" is a wide term, which usually includes language, arts, literature, music, common speech as well as written thought, clothing, customs of daily life, food, and relating to people of different cultures.  It's a particular worldview on daily life that distinguishes one group of people from another group.  There is Arab culture, youth culture, Arab youth culture, etc.  You can belong to multiple groups which shape  your culture.  You can answer some questions about it, such as, what do you eat? buy? read? listen to? watch?  and why do you do this?

That's probably a good start.  You might find additional help from Wikipedia, as well as the dictionary.  Please note that if this is a homework question, you should cite this website and my answer as a reference in your completed paper.

Good luck!  Hope this helps!

peace,

Le Anne

Expertise

I can answer questions on Arab culture, including differences in cultures among Arab countries and sub-groups. I can also answer questions on Christian-Muslim relations, interfaith issues in general, and human rights and peacemaking issues in the Middle East.

Experience

I was a human rights worker for four years in the Middle East, and have spent time in Palestine, Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. I speak intermediate Arabic; some Hebrew; and am starting Persian (Farsi, Dari). I have led a half-dozen educational delegations to the area for North American groups; and I have led trainings for nearly a thousand international human rights volunteers coming into the area over my years there. I am now working to launch an interfaith peace-teams based human rights organization, hopefully in the next two years. I am also currently editing the manuscript for my first book, a firsthand account of my time in the Middle East
