Question
Hello, I wrote to you earliar and cannot access my email so I read your answer off the website. In reply, I just wanted to thank you for your answer. Just to remind you my question was about my PIP " Have the stereotypes attached to Middle Eastern people provoked division and violence with the mainstream Australia?". I just wanted some more information about the violence and division in Australia today, basically in my teen generation. For example, cronulla riots and the recent movie the Combination. I want to focus more on the stereotypes that Middle Eastern people living in Australia today like "arab" "terrorist" "dirty wog"....etc. I wanted to know if these stereotypes encourage violence because middle eastern people may choose to either live up to these stereotypes or fight against them.

If you could further help me on this, it will be most appreciated.
Thanks

Answer
Demonization and criminalization is a purposeful procedure and used by the govts to obtain certain results. these results can be achieved by series of action in that direction.
human psychology loves to associate and hate to be alienated. Alienation leave a profound and destructive affects on human psyche especially if it is carried out by the state through media and laws. No victim community can live with that.
This topic can effectively be covered by conversation with the Arabs in Australia. however professor Peter manning wrote an excellent book on this issue " us and them ". kindly read that book for detail information.
