Hello, I am attending a university and working on my masters for counseling, I am really interested in working with abused victims, therefore I was wondering if you would give me some insight on Arab culture that will help me understand certain things that are done that would not be acceptable here in our country. For instance marrying a child at 6yoa, or the beating of a child. I hope not to offend anyone's culture or religion, I just want to be familiar, therefore I can be aware of how we in our cultured have differences and we all deserve respect for those differences. Bro I am NOT an Arab but I am a Muslim and want to explain something that will help you in your answer. It may not be the answer to your question but it is related to that.
the best way to develop respect for those differences is to learn about Arab culture is to learn about it from Arab sources NOT from enemies of Arabs, the Jews & Christian Zionists, who have their vested interests in developing hater among the people against Arabs and Muslims.
Plus Arabs are the main target of main propaganda against Islam. So try to discriminate between Islam & Arab culture as well.
There are more than 14 million Arab Christians (Coptic Christians).
Why your 'free' media throws all the "evils" of Arab culture on the Shoulders of Islam & Muslims. Ask yourself.
If Islam is responsible for something wrong done by Arabs or other Muslims in their culture the Christianity is Also responsible for are the evils of Christian societies. And in fact so many problems of Christians are directly rooted into Christianity e.g. Alcohol, pornography etc.

so Learn Islam & Arab culture from ARAB SOURCES ONLY, NOT from your so called free media.
Marrying 6yr old child is NOT allowed in any part of Arab world but raping such child has been done so many times in "civilized" nations.
The same is the case for gentle beating of a child by parents but sexual abuse being done in west is NOT mentioned so loudly.
My words are bitter but it is truth.
Arabs are NOT so heinous as your media projects them.
