Arab Culture/marriage between American woman and Christian Arabic man

Question
I recently met an Arabic Christian man who wants to marry
me. I am from the states and he lives in Upper Egypt. I feel
a lot of love for this man and he seems perfect in every
way. However, I hear that Arabic men do not treat American
women well after they marry. Before marriage, they are
wonderful, charming, and like a dream, but this changes once
married. Is this primarily Arabic Muslim men? Should I be
concerned?

Answer
There is no foolproof answer to your question. There are some men who mistreat their wives after marriage regardless of their culture. This could happen regardless of culture or religion. I am afraid that each and every situation is different and unique. You are going to have to trust your instincts on this one. The fact that you are asking me for advice tells me that there is something causing you concern. Many Arab men are looking for a way to come and live in the US often that way is through marriage. How long have you known each other? You need to take things slowly in a situation such as this.
