Arab Culture/Geography; Climate

QuestionGreetings from Chula Vista, California. I'm in the San José State University School of Library and Information Science Master's program. Our reference class has a final project to compare and contrast three e-mail/Web-based reference services, by sending four questions to each service. The questions are to be geared toward four different age groups: a child (grade range K-6); a young adult (grade range 7-12); an undergraduate college student; and a retired adult. Would you mind helping me out, please?
Young Adult (Grades 7-12): My eldest nephew is in seventh grade, age 12, and is taking World Cultures.
His question is: Why do Arabs live on dry (I guess he means "arid" land?
Thank you so much for your time and assistanct!
I need this by Thursday evening (12/01/2005) or the latest by Friday morning (12/02/2005), if at all possible. I look forward to hearing from you!
AnswerActually not all Arabs live on arid land, Arabs live in 22 countries extend from Morocco at the west to Iraq and Qatar at the east, including Egypt, Palestine, and Syria. Etc…
I think you mean the Arabs in the Arabic peninsula, or the Arabs in the Arabic Gulf.
Those Arabs live there because they were borne there, and because there first grandfathers were borne there too. They were living before near the coast or surrounding the oasis.
Currently, and because of the oil, the countries in this area become rich and there are great and beautiful cities such as "Dubai", "Doha", and "Riyadh".
Also these countries are spending a lot of money to cultivate more trees and to obtain drinkable water from sea.
They don't need to cultivate vegetables and fruit, because they have enough money to import such things from other countries.
Also I like to mention at the last that the prophet Mohammed was borne on this land.
I wish I understood your question and I wish I was helpful to you.
Regards
Mohammed Hammoud
