Question
I am middle eastern but currently learning arabic so I'm not that great at it. I'm getting a Saluki pup and want to give him a more traditional name but can't find any good sources. I want to name him a hunting name. Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Dia...

I will suggest hunting names and names that are close to them.

Sayyad: Hunter
Rami: Thrower
Rumeh: Spear
Rammah: The spear maker
Sahm: Arrow
Ghanem, Faiz, Rabeh: Winner
Kaser: Predatory bird, it literally means ''breaker'' so you can still name a dog this.
Jaser: Intrepid, Fearless

These names are very original and still in use to this day.
If you are not satisfied please do ask a follow up question. The are many bravery and heroism names if you like these.

Expertise

I can answer almost everything, from classical Arabic to all major dialects. However North-African dialects -except Egyptian- might get a bit difficult, and sometimes not understandable enough. Questions about Arab culture are welcomed as well.

Experience

I am a native speaker of the language, particularly interested in classical Arabic. Have practiced and self-studied Arabic for a long time.
