Arabic/meaning of a nickname

Question
My mother was Egyptian, but did not raise us to speak Arabic. Her name was Ekram, but everyone called her Monina. I now find myself calling my daughter by this nickname because she reminds me so much of my mother, but I have no idea what it means!

Any help in finding the meaning would be greatly appreciated!

Also, where could I find out how to write it in Arabic?

Thank you!

Answer
Marhaba Sihaya..

Monina is not an Arabic name in itself, it might however be a nickname of the following names ''Mona'' and ''Monia'' which mean ''wish, noun.'' (a wish).

I didn't exactly get what you mean by how to write in Arabic? Do you mean the Arabic alphabet or do you need Arabic keyboard?
There are many websites that provide Arabic keyboard, for people who don't have it. Here is one:
http://www.arabic-keyboard.org/

For arabic alphabet, this is one good website: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/arabic.htm

You're most welcome..

I can answer almost everything, from classical Arabic to all major dialects. However North-African dialects -except Egyptian- might get a bit difficult, and sometimes not understandable enough. Questions about Arab culture are welcomed as well.

Experience

I am a native speaker of the language, particularly interested in classical Arabic. Have practiced and self-studied Arabic for a long time.
