Question
Good afternoon,

Could you please translate the word 'family' into Arabic, and indicate whether it is reading left to right. i have found a few sites online showing both, and i would like to see it in the correct form.
Also, what does the word or name 'Khdra' mean? thank you very much.

Answer
Hello Ruth..

The word family is (Usra) أُسرة
Of course you have to write it and read it from right to left if its written in arabic.
The word Khadra means green in the feminine form. Like (tawela khadra): a green table. Table is feminine so you use this form (khadra).

I can answer almost everything, from classical Arabic to all major dialects. However North-African dialects -except Egyptian- might get a bit difficult, and sometimes not understandable enough. Questions about Arab culture are welcomed as well.

Experience

I am a native speaker of the language, particularly interested in classical Arabic. Have practiced and self-studied Arabic for a long time.
