Arabic - A phrase or expression

Question
Hello Eli,

I hope you won't consider this question a waste of your time and talents.  I love reading your website.  I'm looking for an expression or a phrase that would be, loosely either "sisters of the night" or "sisters of darkness" without an implication of evilness.   Sisters is not literal, but rather could be what we Americans refer to as best friends or dear friends.  I'd like to avoid the use of the word Habibi, it's a little to cute (sorry) for me!

Answer
Hello,

The closest translation would be:

"AKHAWAT AL-ZALAM" where akhawat stand for sisters and al-zalam stand for darkness.

"AKHAWAT AL-LAYL" where al-layl mean night

I would suggest using the AKHAWAT AL LAYL as for most arabs darkness is related to evil.

thanks
