Question Hello, I went to this dentist last month and the total charge was $1095. I paid $497 upfront. Now my insurance company reimbursed them $823 my balance is 1095-823=272. I overpaid 497-272=$225. I called them to get the money back but they refused to do so and after a couple times, they started to ignore my phone calls. Can you give me any advice on this? I live in FL.

As I always note to questioners, mediators act as neutral third parties to disputes and never "get involved" in judging the merits of conflict, but merely use special techniques to help the parties decide how to negotiate their own settlement.
I am certainly not a an expert in this type of matter, and not a lawyer, but I would suggest that any leverage you might have will be through the insurance carrier.
If you paid with a credit card you can challenge the charges and have them charged back.
As you have discovered, you have very little leverage in the matter. You could sue them in small claims court and you would win, but this is quite a hassle for $225. Of course these guys know this and are betting you won't be willing to hassle over it. I think unless you are willing to force the matter, you will have no choice but to just move on.
