Arbitration/Mediation/Subpoena

Question
My former employer printed a copy of a subpoena off of her computer and handed it to me today. The subpoena was regarding a mediation case involving an employee that was terminated and is fighting the termination through the mediation process. Does the subpoena need to be filed with the courts prior the being served and can the manager give me a copy printed from her computer given the fact that she is a part of the case. The Subpoena was not recorded or filed in any California court. Is it a valid document.

Answer
Larry,

The questions you have are more legal in nature rather than in need of the mediation process.  I would recommend that you call the local Clerk of the Court and ask them about the legality of the paperwork.  Or, you might even try to contact an attorney within this site.
