Archaeology/Is there anything left?

Question
Hello Mr. Sailer, thank you in advance for your time and expertise! I have a couple questions:

First, I know there is much more to be unearthed on this planet. But are there any "great finds" still waiting to be discovered? It just seems that with all the archaeologists digging all over the world that we've pretty much found all the "big" mysteries.

My second question is, is there a "great find" you personally would like to discover? Surely you must have a handful of things you'd love to find, but if you could unearth just one thing, what would it be?

Thanks,
Mitch

Answer
Hi Mitch,

I think we have just scratched  the surface.  Just yesterday in the jungles of Peru (Amazon side of the Andes), an Inca city was found using space imagery.  A few weeks ago, space imagery found several sites worth exploring in the Sahara desert.  And on it goes.  There are lost civilizations, lost linkages between peoples and cultures all of which still need to be found.  Even the smallest find could be critical.

The one I'm interested in is where did the peoples of  the Americas come from?  Did they make  their way here via the Atlantic along the ice or from Asia across the land bridge during the last ice age..... How are the Yanamami indians of Amazonia related to the Athebascans or the Seminol related to the Inca?  If every one came across the land bridge, you would expect some genetic connection.....

Where is it?
