Question
i am a student of 12th standard..i am from India...i want to be an archaeologist.i am interested in middle eastern and islamic history..i want to know which universities in the world offer the best programmes for archaeology..is it better to study in europe or america?

Answer
Hi Nargis,

There are many fine universities in India which look at the archaeology of the region.  Since you are interested in Islamic History, I will make the assumption that you are Muslim.  As such, you could go to university in North African Universities (Egypt or Morocco).  You may want to consider Jordan.  Since you are an Indian citizen, you are also eligible to go to university in the UK.  Both Cambridge and Oxford have very good programs but they do not concentrate of Islamic history per se.

These are all from www.google.com  I put in either "archaeology programs in India" or "Islamic Archaeology programs".

Good Luck.
