Archaeology - The 'Season'

Question
I read a lot about the so-called 'season' of an archaeological dig in Egypt, what period does this actually refer to please?

Answer
Hi Jeremy,

As you can well imagine, Egypt is a very hot place during the summer.  In fact from about Mid April to Late September it is a very hot time of year.  So the digging season is during the cooler months of the year from October to the end of April.
