Hi i am a a sophomore in high school and I want to go into the field of archaeology. I'm not really sure what I'd like to do like the subfields and such. May be maritime, biblical, classical, or experimental? Please I would like some help?

Hi Emma,

Have you ever been on a dig?  If not, then this is a good place to start to see if you really like this kind of work.  It can be hot, dirty and boring but if you have the patience and continued interest, then you will need to think of what area you are interested in since different colleges tend to specialize in both cultural areas and the science aspects.  Let me know what city and state you live in and I will direct you to your local Archaeological Society group.  Many do digs and this is a great way to learn from others and local professionals.
